The Thrasher Group is seeking the following full-time positions in our Charleston, WV office location: CIVIL ENGINEER The selected candidate will become part of a team that provides design and consulting services to both public and private clientele. Applicant must have knowledge of civil engineering design practices and an understanding of the project development process. Candidate must possess the ability to prepare design calculations, drawings and specifications for utility projects such as water and wastewater systems, municipal water, sewer and storm water projects. The ability to manage project construction from inception to completion, review construction design contracts, prepare bids and review submittals and cost estimates is required. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering A minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience. Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong organization and time management skills. MATERIALS TESTING/CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION TECHNICIAN Applicant must be able to work with clients and contractors, prepare field & lab inspection and testing reports and provide technical support for construction quality control. Working conditions for this position include working outside, in all types of weather conditions, in an office or lab environment. Candidate must be able to lift 40 - 50 pounds and walk or stand for extended periods of time. Qualifications: WVDOT, Nuclear Density Gauge & ACI Certifications are highly desired. Experience with the monitoring of utility projects for both public and private clientele is preferred. The ability to travel and work overtime when needed A High School Diploma, or its equivalent, is required. Post high school education is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong organization, computer and time management skills. SURVEY PARTY CHIEF The selected individual will be responsible for field crew(s) as well as the operation of survey equipment, taking data collection, performing calculations and working with clients on projects. Experience in ALTA, Construction Stakeout and Boundary Surveys is highly desired. Qualifications: 1 Year of experience in surveying High School Diploma or its equivalent Experience with Trimble Survey Equipment is highly desired The ability to travel with the potential of being away from home. The ability to stand or walk over rugged terrain for an extended period of time. The ability to work in a variety of climate conditions including hot and cold weather is required. SURVEY TECHNICIAN Working under the direction of the Survey Crew Chief, the Survey Technician will assist with various types of land surveying & mapping including ALTA & Boundary Surveys, Construction Stakeouts for various types of projects for both private & public clientele. Qualifications: A high school diploma or its equivalent Previous experience as a survey technician is highly desired but is not required. The ability to work in a variety of climate conditions including hot and cold weather The ability to travel with the potential of being away from home.
