United Coal Company is currently accepting applicants for a Land Manager position. Primary responsible for managing the surface and mineral holdings of the Company. This includes but is not limited to: Negotiate and acquire surface and mineral tract leases and purchases. Calculate and report lease minimum royalty payments, production royalties, wheelage, and other royalty payments and the recoupment of prepaid royalties. Maintain and manage the company's royalty and lease management software. Manage leases to ensure that the Company is in compliance with lease terms. Ensure that the Company has valid mining rights in a timely manner. Prepare unmined mineral tax returns. Maintain accurate maps of the Company's surface and mineral holdings Negotiate Right of Way agreements and Right of Entry Agreements, timber removal agreements and other agreements necessary for the Company's operations. Negotiate the relocation of powerlines, gas lines and other utilities to facilitate the Company's operations. Communicate with operations, engineering, accounting and other Company departments about land and royalty information. Experience and Education Requirements BS in Civil or Mining Engineering Minimum of 10 years of experience in land management in coal. Experience with land management software and the calculation and payment of royalties. Ability to use Autocad, Survcadd, GIS software or other mapping software for generating lease maps and exhibits helpful. Knowledgeable in courthouse research to verify ownership of surface and mineral tracts and mining rights.
